Just returned from a week in Utah. Camped up on sand flats, pod C with two other families and seven kiddos. Rode Porcupine Rim, Slick Rock, Bar M, Poison Spider with the ever exciting portal trail desent. Had to walk that section where the sign posted stated 3 riders have died here. And rode a new trail called Pipe Dream. Great fun out in Moab once again.

A busy sunday on the Fort Collins trails
Well it was another great day in Fort Collins and lots of people were out on the trails today. I took a nice long ride from Pineridge down to Reservoir Ridge and then back again. Everyone on the trail was very nice and lots of hikers pulled off the trail before I had a chance to pull of for them, thanks. I came across some deer along the Foothills trail just south of Reservoir Ridge and what I think was an Osprey along shoreline (check out the video below!). I also came across some riders including NCGR's own JJ, Meredith Miller, and a gentleman who turned out to be from the Wyoming State Parks. He apparently designed and help build the Curt Gowdy trail system and told me that he is currently working on a trail system at Glendo State Park that will "blow Curt Gowdy out of the water". Sounds pretty exciting! He hopes that the trail system will be finished by the end of this summer and is looking for some volunteer crews to help. The park is about a 2.5 hr drive up I-25 from Fort Collins.
Hope everyone enjoyed the nice weather this weekend and didn't get stuck watching basketball the entire time!

Lory - Horsetooth Ride 3/19
After a 2-week hiatus from my bike to nurse an injury of sorts, I got back on and hit it hard. After a warm-up loop on the west valley - east valley trails in Lory I rode Timber, Kimmons, west-valley, south valley, nomad, towers, mill creek, west-valley and back to timber lot. It was a great day, trails were in great shape, but there's still some work to be done before the Horsetooth endurance race. Enjoy the pictures!

Single Speed USA 2011!
For those out there who prefer one f'n speed, this is for you! Single Speed USA 2011 is being held in the Boulder area. The event is going down July 3-5. Registration is open and completed by creating some kind of inspirational work of art, sending 35 bones to Dirt Bag Racing, and then actually showing up. Here is the registration info! I would love to ride but seeing as how I don't own a SS I probably won't be there...
There are sure to be some fun shenanigans aside from the racing. Post-race-day events usually determine where the next SS USA race will be! Maybe Fort Collins..?
Leave some comments if you're interested or already going!

Overland MTB 40 mile race
As some of you know the Overland MTB club is putting on a 40 mile xc race in Horsetooth MP and Lory on July 9, 2011. Finally we are getting some MTB races in our backyard. The race is in the early stages of planning, not even a name yet. However I do know that the number of racers, at least for this year is going to be kept to a minimum, unofficially I heard 150. I also heard the club is reserving some spots for local riders. I was asked by one of the board members to compile a list of our members that might be interested in racing or volunteering. This could be a way to get some of us in. Let me know asap if you want to race/volunteer and I will send the list over to Overland.
So far I have Doug, Libby, Chris, Toby, Brian, and myself as in.
